Bacano Verde
The Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez describes his country as having the colors of a thousand greens. This exposition of paintings and text describes Life on the Caribbean Coast. The influence of the indigenous Indians, upon the Europeans, especially the Spanish, and the Africans they brought with them as their slaves, has created a unique cultural mix of people who live along the Northeastern coast of Colombia. In four catagories: The Sea, The Fishermen, The Old Buses, The Street Vendors, the special colors of this area are presented through the eyes of a native of North American. |

El escritor Colombiano Gabriel Garcia Marquez dice que su pais tiene los colores de mil verdes. Este exposición de cuadros y textos que cuentan de la vida en la costa del Caribe. La influencia de las Indias indígenas, sobre los Europeos, especialmente los Españoles y de los Africanos que trajeron como sus esclavos, ha creado una mezcla cultural de gente que vive por la costa nordeste de Colombia. La exposicion esta dividida en cuatro categorias: El Mar, Los Pescadores, Los Buses Viejos, Los Vendedores Ambulantes, para mostrar los colores unicos de este area. tras la perspectiva de una nativa Norteamericana. |

The Old Buses
Crocheted curtians hang from windows open to sun and sea. Inside and out are painted with zig zags and stripes in bright colors. The wind shield is adorned with images of the Virgen, fotos of the chofer's family, wooden rosaries, straw voodo dolls, and paper flowers. On the back window appear phrases like "It's Forbidden to Stop Dreaming' or "Forgotten Dreams" to inspire its passengers. A radio playing salsa completes an atmosphere of a "rumba on wheels". |
Los Buses Viejos
Cortinas enrejadas cuelgan de ventanas abiertas al mar y cielo. Por fuera y por dentro el bus viejo esta pintado con zigzagueantes y rayos en colores brillantes. El vidrio del frente se adorna con imagines de la virgen, fotos de la familia del chofer, rosarias de madera, figuras en paja del vudu, y flores de papel. Sobre el cristal trasero aparecen mensajes como "Prohibido dejar de sonar" o "Suenos olvidos" para inspirar a sus pasajeros. Una radio al borde suena salsa, completando la atmosfera de la ?rumba sobre ruedas". |

| Street Vendors
In the streets and on the beaches, vendors sell everything from oranges and mangos, brooms and mops, to trips to nearby Islands. In case you do not see what you are looking for, just ask and it can be found. |
| Vendedores ambulantes
En las calles tal como en las playas, venden de todo desde mandarines, mangos y escobars hasta viajes a las islas cercanas. Por si a caso no se ve lo que busques, pregunte y se encontrara. |

The Fishermen
Each morning they leave the shore to fish. Far out in the ocean under the blazing Sun they are only a tiny speck on the ocean's surface. An ancient myth conveys the mystery of the Fisherman.
Once a Fisherman was thrown from his boat and rescued by a Mermaid. She loved the Fisherman. And, He knew it was his destiny to love Her. But she could not live out of the Water. So, He let Her go, with the evening Sun, back into the Sea. |
Los Pescadores
Cada mañana salen para pescar. Lejos de la orilla, debajo del brillante sol, son apenas una mancha sobre la superficie del mar. Un antiguo mito describe el misterio del Pescador.
Una vez un pescador naufragose y fue rescato por una Sirena. La Sirena se enamoro del Pescdor. Y, el supo que era su destino haberla conocido. Pero, la Sirena no podia vivir en tierra. Tanto la amaba el pescador, que la dejo marchar, con el sol del atardecer, de vuelta al mar. |
